Frequently Asked Questions - How much does this cost?
If you are coming to Excel for your complete pregnancy ultrasound a 4D will be included in that exam at no additional charge. You will get a CD and color pictures to take home.

If you are not having your pregnancy ultrasound done here, you may schedule a non-diagnostic 4D ultrasound for $90. This price includes CD and color photos for you to take home, however, no measurements of the baby will be taken in the non-diagnostic session. We do not require an order from your doctor to perform this non-diagnostic test. We accept all major credit cards, checks and cash.

Do I need a prescription from my doctor?
An order is not required to perform the $90 non-diagnostic 3D/4D ultrasound. We do require an order for a complete pregnancy OB ultrasound and any other diagnostic ultrasound.

Will my images be of good quality?
Every session is different. Excel Medical Imaging does not guarantee optimal visualization of the baby in 4D. The quality of the pictures varies and is affected by gestation, age (29 to 32 weeks often produces the best images), development stage, position of the baby, maternal tissue thickness, amount of amniotic fluid, placental location and/or location of body parts that may interfere with clear views of the baby's face and other body parts. Be assured that our technologists will do their very best to achieve optimal images of your baby.

Ultrasound vs. Sonogram
An ultrasound is the machine that allows you to see your baby during your pregnancy. A sonogram is the picture taken of your baby during the ultrasound. A sonogram is a "still-shot" of your baby. 4D Ultrasounds take 3D ultrasound images, or 3D sonograms, and adds the element of time to the process. The result: Live Action ultrasound images of your baby. Some people refer to the procedure as prenatal imaging, 3D imaging, a 3D scan, or 4D scan.
