Bone Scan - All Other (duration 60 mins)
Prep: Patient to come in morning for injection and return 3 hours later.
Bone Scan 3-Phase (duration 60 mins)
Prep: Patient to come in morning for injection and 30 mins on the camera and return 3 hours later.
Cisternography (duration 90 mins)
Prep: Patient needs approval from Excel before it can be scheduled.
Gastric Emptying Study (duration 90+ mins)
Prep: NPO after midnight. Patient will eat light breakfast here.
Hida Scan w/ or w/o Ejection Fraction (duration 90 mins)
Prep: NPO 8 hours. 8AM appointment is preferred.
Renal Scans (duration 60 mins)
Prep: Do not take blood pressure medication in the morning of the test. If the study includes pharmaceuticals then patient needs to arrive 1 hours early. Patient can call Excel to confirm exam start time.
Thyroid Scans (duration 30 - 60 mins)
Prep: Patient needs to be off all thyroid medication and no prior test that had intravenous contrast at least 6 weeks before test. Patient will need to come in twice. Once for the pill and 24 hours later for the exam.
Other Nuclear Medicine Studies (duration 20 - 120 mins)
Prep: No prep.
(NPO means the patient should not eat or drink anything for the period advised by their physician.)
